Case: The AI Sales Agent That Closed a Deal With Nobody in the Chat

AI sales agent case: first fully autonomous sale of AED 1,575
Task

SkyLight Studio is our own business — the photo and video studio inside the SkyLight network. Enquiries land in WhatsApp all day: what does an hour cost, is Saturday free, can you shoot a product set. For years every one of them was answered by the owner personally. That works until it doesn't. Replies stall overnight, a quote goes out and nobody follows it up, and the person who should be running the company spends the day typing prices into a phone.

The brief we gave ourselves: an agent that carries a conversation end to end — from the first question about price to a paid booking in the calendar — and a way to prove it works before we offer it to anyone else. We ran it on our own revenue first, because a claim about AI that hasn't cost the person making it anything is worth nothing.

What we built
  • An agent on WhatsApp that quotes, reads the calendar, offers an alternative slot when the requested one is taken, sends a payment link and confirms the booking.
  • Measurement before changes. We first counted how many payments the agent had ever closed without a human: zero out of eleven over fourteen days. Every claim below is measured against that.
  • A payment link the agent can see it has sent. Previously it could promise a link and never send one — fifteen such phantom promises in two weeks, invisible to us because the message was never written back to its own memory.
  • Money recorded correctly. Eight of eleven payments had been logged as 0.00 because records split across two key formats, so one real sale looked like two and the totals could not be trusted.
  • A hand-off rule: the moment the owner types in a chat the agent steps back, then returns automatically after fifteen minutes. No talking over a human.
  • Guard rails that survive contact with reality — never confirm a payment the CRM has not seen, no discount ladder unless a genuinely new objection appears, one upsell offer rather than a waterfall of them.

Results:

On 26 July 2026 the agent took a conversation from a price question to a confirmed AED 1,575 booking — quote, slot, payment link, screenshot, confirmation, name and contact details, calendar entry — with zero replies from a human. Before this, that number had been zero out of eleven.

Across the same 47-hour window the owner's share of outgoing messages fell from 45% to 21%, and payment links sent rose from 0.36 to 2.6 a day. Phantom "sending the link" messages: none.

Read this honestly: it is one sale, not a statistic. It proves the thing is possible, not that it is reliable. We are running the measurement for another month before we quote a conversion rate — and we would rather publish that sentence than a percentage we cannot stand behind. The service this case came from is here.
